Really interesting, isn’t it? Apart from the growing volume of knowledge about civilized Britain before Stonehenge, it brings into question the school-taught image of those ancient heroes who rolled the stones on logs all the way from Wales. Given the value of stone in those times, it seems more likely to me that there was a gradual progression as one religious structure was dismantled and its materials redeployed. Fascinating!
