Remembering the Loss of a Loved One
This poem was found amongst the belongings of my partners Mother who recently passed away. We think it may have been dedicated to her Husband also deceased some eight years ago.
The Poem
This month comes with sad regret,
It brings a day I will never forget,
You fell asleep without goodbye,
Memories of you will never die,
Sometimes I think I am dreaming and can’t believe its true,
My thoughts are always with you,
My memories will never fade,
I treasure all the years we shared,
And all the love you gave,
Words unspoken, Tears unseen,
Wishing your absence was just a dream
A daily thought, a silent tear,
A constant wish that you were here,
You were so very special,
What more is there to say, I only wish with all my heart
That you were here today.

A very touching poem. It must have been very hard on you and your partner losing such special people like the wonderful lady mentioned here and the lovely Joy…..in two consecutive posts.
May their souls rest in peace.
Its a beautiful poem. Brings tears to my eyes. She’s reunited with her husband. She’s happy and with all of you.

Thanks Rita, lovely poem. We just lost Stéphane’s mother to cancer, so we know what you are going through… Stephane’s mother was “only” 80 though.
